Short Job Description:

Attaway Services is seeking a skilled Welder to join our field operations team. The ideal candidate has experience performing high-quality welding on a variety of industrial and structural projects, working with precision, efficiency, and attention to detail.

As a Welder, you’ll be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures and components both in-shop and on job sites. You’ll work closely with field crews, supervisors, and project managers to ensure all welds meet company and regulatory standards. This role demands technical ability, safe work habits, and pride in craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding and fabrication using MIG, TIG, and stick processes on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum as required.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical instructions to determine job requirements and specifications.
  • Fit, align, and weld components to form complete assemblies or subassemblies with precise measurements.
  • Inspect welds and completed assemblies for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications.
  • Set up and maintain welding equipment, tools, and safety gear according to company standards.
  • Collaborate with foremen, fabricators, and field technicians to complete projects efficiently and safely.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance on welding and cutting equipment.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including PPE use, confined-space entry, and hot-work permitting procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and assist in general job-site housekeeping duties.
  • Report material usage, time, and progress accurately to supervisors or project managers.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of welding experience in industrial, fabrication, or construction environments.
  • Proficiency in multiple welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and weld symbols.
  • Strong understanding of metal properties, materials, and welding procedures.
  • Current or recent Welding Certification (AWS, ASME, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Commitment to safety, including OSHA compliance and hot-work standards.
  • Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs, climbing ladders, and working in varying weather conditions.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or vocational training in welding is a plus.
